It’s the cast nylon plastic we often recommend for the most demanding industrial applications. Nylatech Nythane grades are a chemically formulated co-polymer that offers engineering material with the high tensile and compressive strength of cast nylon. It also provides excellent wear and abrasion resistance, often a non-negotiable requirement in demanding industrial applications.
This ultimate performance plastic is well suited for:
- gears
- sprockets
- power transmission components
- extreme outdoor environments
- valve seats
- back-up rings
- butterfly valves
- stem bushings
- bearing blocks
- impact pads
- torsion couplings
To provide the best-suited plastic material for your specific application, Nylatech Nythane comes in three specific grades:
Nylatech Nythane: This is the “natural” (or unfilled) grade yellowish in colour. Its high impact resistance and tensile strength pair well in environments where shock, abrasion, vibration, impact, and moisture absorption are present.
Nylatech Nythane Oil: This grade uses the same proprietary process as our Nylatech Oil to lubricate within the polymer chain to provide surface lubricity. It’s a good choice for environments where increased wear, moisture absorption and increase abrasion are likely to occur.
Nylatech Nythane SL: This grade includes a solid lubricant (SL) to support longer-lasting material, even in the most aggressive environments where extreme wear and abrasion are expected.
