Founded nearly ten years ago, the Women in Plastics (WIP) committee started as a small interest group geared towards encouraging more women to enter the performance plastics industry. The opportunities in sales, engineering, fabrication and leadership were many times overlooked by career seekers and WIP wanted to change that.
WIP began by holding regional events on campuses throughout the USA which all had a focus on career development. The events encouraged IAPD members, male and female, as well students to attend.
What started out as one of the smallest organized groups has turned into one of largest official committees with frequent events throughout the entire year that are extremely well attended. The subject matter still surrounds career development, with experienced speakers and inspiring leaders taking the stage.
Women in Plastics also supports various local charities throughout the US in conjunction with these events.
Nylatech is proud to support the WIP and is excited to announce the participation of three members of our team.
