California Proposition 65 Notice and Warning

Nylatech, Inc. is fully committed to providing safe and environmentally friendly nylon 6 and nylon 6/12 products to the market place. Our business model reflects our desire to reduce, reuse and recycle materials that would otherwise be discarded to landfill across the country.

The California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, better known as Proposition 65, lists in excess of 1000 chemicals believed to cause cancer and/or birth defects or reproductive harm. Proposition 65 requires manufactures to provide a clear and reasonable warning before knowingly and intentionally exposing anyone to a listed chemical. A clear and reasonable warning indicates that the manufacturer has:

  1. Evaluated the exposure and concluded that the product contains a listed chemical that exceeds the “no significant risk level” as defined in Proposition 65, or
  2. The manufacturer has chosen to provide warning simply based on the knowledge of the presence of a listed chemical without attempting to evaluate exposure.
Based on the ever increasing number of “listed” chemicals and the extensive and growing array of products available, Nylatech, Inc. has chosen to offer this warning based on the premise that a minute quantity of residual chemical listed in Proposition 65 may exist in some of our products. While the exposure levels may be below concern, or non-existent, it is not feasible for us to conduct evaluations of exposure levels within every casting.

The following material is used in formulating products manufactured by Nylatech, Inc.:
N-mythel-2-pyrrolidone, CAS No. 872-50-4, Toxicity Type – Developmental
Most or all of the listed chemical is contained within molecular structure within our products which prohibits the possibility of exposure. However, based on the abundance of caution, Nylatech, Inc. has elected to provide this warning notice.
